Born in Padua in 1974, Massimiliano (Max) Alajmo, together with his brother Raffaele (Raf) and his sister Laura, represent the third generation of restaurateurs, who have hospitality, raw materials and cooking in their DNA.


After graduating from a restaurant management school in Italy, Max continues with his culinary training in the kitchens of great Italian and European chefs, such as Alfredo Chiocchetti, Marc Veyrat and Michel Guérard.

Back in Padua, Max took charge of the kitchen at the "Le Calandre", and his brother took over the general management. Together, the Alajmo brothers work passionately to achieve their ambition of turning their parents' modest restaurant into one of the best in the world. 



On the 27th of November 2002, "Le Calandre" received 3 stars from the Michelin Guide, making Max, who is just 28 years old, the youngest chef to be awarded this triple distinction.

Today Max is managing the kitchens of the Alajmo family group, which has three restaurants in Italy: “Le Calandre”, “Quadri” in Venice and “La Montecchia”; three bistros: “Il Calandrino”, “abc Quadri” and “abc Montecchi”; a catering company, a gourmet shop and a line of their own products under the name “In.gredienti”; And a new place they have recently opened, “Caffè Stern” in París.
