Alimentaria 2014, generally considered the food and drink sector’s most important trade fair in Southern Europe, kicks off next Monday in Barcelona. Joselito will of course be there for all four days of the exhibition (31 March to 3 April) in the exclusive Alimentaria Premium area, which is reserved for select firms specialising in gourmet products.


The area features the finest delicatessen items on the market, and is where the very best gourmet delights are to be found. The design of the Joselito stand in the Premium area (P1-D7) uses the red and black colours that define the brand, underlining the values of quality, innovation and family tradition that back up such a venerable brand as Joselito. The stand will also feature a retrospective exhibition of the main Premium collections by Joselito, including pieces by Rafael Moneo and Andrés Sardá.

 

The stand will be open for visitors to sample Joselito Spanish ham expertly sliced by our master carver. Visitors will not only taste the best ham in the world, they can also enjoy the exceptional experience of tasting and comparing three different vintages of cured ibérico ham. This is the “Joselito Trilogy”, consisting of hams from the Joselito 2006 Vintage, cured for 96 months; a Joselito from 2008, cured for 72 months; and a Joselito from 2009, cured for 60 months. A veritable journey of flavour and nuance in an unforgettable gourmet experience. Joselito will also be presenting the entire range of selected Joselito products at Alimentaria 2014, such as cured pork loin, chorizo, salchichón and our latest innovation, the Coppa Joselito.

 

And Alimentaria 2014 will also host the launch of innovative products and new creations in the sector. The aim is to meet consumers’ needs, tastes and preferences, with the focus on providing a product that gives added value and quality. With that in mind, one of the activities that Joselito will be unveiling is the Joselito Lab, an innovative project devoted to culinary research and creation, using Joselito ham as the main focal point. The project has been developed alongside Ferran Adrià and his team from elBulli to come up with new recipes using acorn-fed ibérico ham by Joselito.

 

Alimentaria expects to welcome more than 140 thousand visitors from 140 countries, turning Barcelona into the food and drink capital of the world. Alimentaria 2014 features a huge variety of pavilions and activities, so it’s best to plan ahead before arriving.
